      The Western Districts Cat Society

came into being when Ken and May Favell relocated to the Baulkham Hills/Castle Hill area in the early 1970’s and established an all breeds club to service the then western and north western outskirts of Sydney.

The club’s first Championship show was held at the Harvey Lowe pavilion in the Castle Hill Showgrounds where it remained for the next 15 years. In 1988 the show moved to the St Clair Recreation Centre before moving to the Rooty Hill Recreation Centre in 1998. Companion cats were included in the show from 2000 together with Open style judging, and in 2003 the club hosted the first NSWCFA State Championship show.
Since 2006 the club has concentrated its membership base in the Hawkesbury/Blacktown area and shows were held at the Riverstone Sports Centre for many years.  Since 2019 the club now holds its show at The Hawkesbury Showgrounds at Clarendon.  The show of recent years has included 2 or 3 visiting overseas judges and 1 or 2 interstate judges.  In the last couple of years the club has introduced that each judge, judges a full ring of the show so we end up with each judge with a Top 10 Pedigrees in Show and a Supreme Companion in Show.
The club caters for members with all breeds of pedigreed and companion cats.
